Dr Deniz Çifçi is a Middle East analyst and he is specialised in Kurds. His research covers Islamic and ethno-national movements with intense focus on ISIS, PKK, Kurdish Hezbollah, Menzil and Gulen movements. He is also an expert on the Turkish Foreign Policy and Kurdish political movements in Syria, Iran, and Iraq. He has extensive fieldwork experience in Turkey, Iraq, Syria, and Europe on ethnic and religious groups. A number of his articles have been published in several newspapers and political magazines. He regularly participates and presents in international, regional, and national conferences. He has also been invited to several talks on the Kurds in Turkey, Syria and Iraq, Kurdish Hezbollah, PKK, Gülen Movement, ISIS and Contentious Politics in the Middle East as an expert. He appears on TV channels including BBC and TRT and has been interviewed by several newspapers and institutions. He is currently doing research on the conflict between the Kurds and ISIS.
