“Firstly, let me congratulate you on your 6th anniversary and on your tremendous record of activity over this short period.

The Centre for Turkey Studies provides a critical platform for engaging with minority communities of Turkish origins in the UK and for the deepening of ties between the UK and Turkey. Migrant communities from around the world, such as our Turkish Cypriot, Turkish and Kurdish communities, make an invaluable contribution to our economic, social and cultural success and I am delighted to join the celebration of these achievements at the CEFTUS gala dinner this year.

I wish you all the best with your work and your laudable bridge-building efforts here in the UK, and between the UK and Turkey.”

Afzal Khan is MP for Manchester Gorton
