Zeynep Banu Dalaman

 

Dr Zeynep Banu Dalaman is a sociologist and a political scientist. She graduated from the department of Sociology at Bogazici University (1994) and started her political career while she was assisting to Prof. Dr. Nilüfer Göle. She has participated in several political activities for many years and performed many important fieldworks. She accomplished her MA in the department of International Relations Middle-East Politics at Institute of Political Studies in Paris (Sciences-Po Paris). She had started Ph.D. studies in Columbia University, but she had to suspend it because of family reasons. However, she is now carrying on her Ph. D. in the department of International Relations and Political Sciences at the Graduate School of Social Sciences at Fatih University. From 2008 to 2010, she worked as the political advisor for Mayor of Sisli, Mustafa Sarigul. Zeynep Banu Dalaman officially stood as candidate to Mayoralty of Beyoglu from Democratic Left Party (DSP) in the local elections of 2009. Dalaman is currently a lecturer at Istanbul Aydin University, the director of the Centre for Studies on Turkey (CST) and the coordinator of Women Studies.
