The Centre for Turkey Studies was invited to attend various conferences and events in Spain last year as part of a project supported by the European Council. The centre has been invited to attend another major international congress held in Istanbul. The congress commenced with the Prime Minister of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s opening speech and hosted a variety of attendees. Among them were ministers of several states, executives of many international organisations, CEOs of distinguished corporations of Turkey and numerous members of press. Our director, Ibrahim Dogus, attending the congress on behalf of the Centre for Turkey Studies, informed the attendees about the centre’s work.

The current Deputy Prime Minister of Turkey, Ali Babacan, held a reception as part of the congress at the Ciragan Palace. Ibrahim Dogus among the invitees at the reception met with Ali Babacan about the centre’s events and activities and talked about recent events in Turkey.
