Sir David Amess MP’s 6th Anniversary Message

“I have the highest regard for the Turkish people and have always found my Turkish constituents to be hard-working and extremely committed to helping those less fortunate than themselves in the wider community.

As the United Kingdom prepares to leave the European Union it is more important than ever that Britain and Turkey strengthen their already strong bonds of friendship. Hopefully, we can enter into a new era of trading and economic cooperation once the Brexit negotiations are complete.

The Centre for Turkey Studies has always been a key part of building stronger links between the UK and Turkey since its foundation in 2011 and I look forward to continuing to support their work in the future.

I hope everyone enjoys the 6th Anniversary Gala, catching up with old friends and making new ones. It is always a very happy event and shows the Turkish community doing what it does best, coming together to help and assist one another and building bridges between communities.”
