Other panellists were Nick De Bois Conservative MP for Enfield North, Richard Ottoway Conservative MP for Croydon South and Chair of Foreign Affairs Select Committee, Simon Hughes Liberal Democrat MP for Bermondsey and Old Southwark and Deputy leader of Liberal Democrats, Dr. Bill Kissane of London School of Economics and Mr. Ilker Kilic of the Republican Turkish Party from Cyprus.

Dr Bayramoglu focused on the need for Turkey to advance its democratisation process and political reform initiated under the AKP government led by Prime Minister Recep Tayip Erdogan.

Our keynote speaker and panel particularly highlighted the need to balance the civil-military leadership and their role in politics in Turkey.
