Faik Tunay MPCEFTUS Westminster Debate : ‘The Republican People’s Party’s (CHP) Political Outlook in the ‘New Turkey”

Mr Faik Tunay is a Member of Parliament for the Republican People’s Party (CHP). He also holds the post of councillor for Sisli Municipality, Istanbul, a post he was elected to in 2009, and is the youngest ever person to hold that office. He is also deputy chairman of the Federation of Rumeli and Balkan Turks as well as member of congress at Trabzonspor sports club. A graduate from Marmara University’s Department of Econometrics, Mr Tunay counts already with an extensive political career. He held various positions in the Motherland Party, represented Turkey in the 2002 European Youth Convention, was Vice Chairman of IYDU (International Young Democrat Union) between 2002-2004 and was a member of the Foreign Affairs Committee between 2001-2013.
