Centre for Turkey Studies Launched its Website www.ceftus.org

The Centre for Turkey Studies, after having completed a successful year, has launched its new website in the British Parliament. The reception was hosted by Anas Sarwar MP for Glasgow in the Jubilee Room, House of Commons.

The reception attracted a large audience from different communities. Chiara Rose Merritt of the Centre for Turkey Studies in her opening speech presented an overview of the centre’s work. She stated that the new website will improve the centre’s communication with the public and media.

Following the opening speech, Anas Sarwar Labour MP for Glasgow gave a speech. Sarwar congratulating the Centre for Turkey Studies’ new website stated that the centre has accomplished a great deal in a short period. He added that he would continue supporting the centre as its work is significant in regards to relations between Turkey and Britain and the British communities originating from Turkey and Cyprus.

Emre Egesel, responsible for press and media relations at the Centre for Turkey Studies spoke about the new website. Egesel stated that the new website will allow the centre to reach out to larger audiences in Britain and Turkey. He also gave a short tour of the ceftus.org website.

Attorney General Dominic Grieve expressed that the Centre for Turkey Studies is a fast growing organization in a short period of time and is hopeful that centre will play an important role in Turkey- Britain relations.

The director of Centre for Turkey Studies, Ibrahim Dogus, stated that he is pleased with the support the centre receives and believes the centre will become a recognised expert organization focusing on relations between Turkey and Britain as well as Turkey’s social, political and economic development.
