Turkey’s turbulent past year and implications for the future

Sir David Logan, Former Ambassador to Turkey and Chair of the British Institute at Ankara, spoke at a CEFTUS Roundtable on Turkey’s turbulent past year and its implications for the country’s future. The discussion, chaired by CEFTUS advisor Dr Gareth Winrow, covered both domestic and international concerns. The event was held in partnership with CEFTUS’ security analysis partner, Frontier Horizons Consultancy, marking the beginning our our collaboration.

Speaker biography

Sir David Logan was British Ambassador to Turkey from 1997-2001, and also served at the British Embassy there between 1965-1969. For most of his career in the Diplomatic Service he specialised in east-west relations and in defence policy.

He was Director of the Centre for Studies in Security and Diplomacy and Honorary Professor in the School of Social Sciences at Birmingham University between 2002-200 and Chairman of the British Institute at Ankara from 2005-2016.
